The visiting team (dark jerseys) may wear a t-shirt that matches the jersey color OR a black t-shirt.  All players must match in terms of t-shirt color.  The home team (white jerseys) may only wear a white t-shirt.  If t-shirt colors don’t match, officials should address the matter with the head coach.  This is not a technical foul.  It’s a “cannot play until corrected” situation.  If a player must remove or change a t-shirt, it must occur away from the court and a coach should accompany any player who needs to make a change.

One-and-one no longer exists.  Bonus is on the fifth foul of a quarter and is always two shots.  The team foul count resets to zero for the 2nd/3rd/4th quarters.  Fouls do not reset for overtime.  Any overtime period is an extension of the fourth quarter.

Any ball thrown or tapped out-of-bounds results in the ensuing throw-in being at the closest spot to where the ball went out-of-bounds.  This is not a change.

Defensive fouls or defensive violations in the frontcourt now result in the ensuing throw-in being from one of the four designated frontcourt throw-in spots.  These spots are the 28-foot line on the appropriate sideline or at the appropriate spot three feet wide of the lane line on the endline.

A timeout called by the offense while the ball is on the court in the frontcourt results in the throw-in occurring from one of the four designated frontcourt throw-in spots.

A backcourt (over and back) violation or a 10-second violation results in the ensuing throw-in being from one of the four frontcourt designated throw-in spots since the new offense is throwing the ball in in the frontcourt.

If the offense is throwing the ball in from their backcourt and either can’t get it in or throws it out-of-bounds without being touched, the ensuing throw-in would occur from the same spot as the original throw-in.

If a team has the ball for a throw-in in the frontcourt and calls timeout, the ball does not move because the timeout was granted after the throw-in spot was determined.

A player can legally go out of bounds to avoid a screen or to avoid an opponent.  A violation would only occur if that player was the first to touch the ball after returning to the court. A player can legally save a ball and then be the first to touch the ball upon returning to the court. If you plan to wear a uniform other than white as the home team due to a “theme night,” your AD must contact Kurt Gibson or Beth Sauser for approval.  If approval is given, your opponent must wear white jerseys as the road team.  This must be clearly communicated with your opponent once the IHSA grants the approval. If worn, headbands, wristbands, sleeves and tights must be black, white, beige or the primary color of the jersey.  All players must match in terms of color.  As with the t-shirts, this is a “cannot play until corrected” situation and is not a technical foul.  Headbands, wristbands, sleeves and tights do not need to match t-shirt color.  Additionally, headbands must go around the head without there being extensions hanging out.
